Mark Wilshusen is committed to finding a cure for cancer. As a cancer survivor himself, he has the passion to make a difference. He encouraged the DECA club last spring to adopt the American Cancer Society as our charity focus for the year and when a staff member was found to have cancer this fall, he rallied to find a way to help and support her through dedicating the Burlington American Cancer Society's Pull for a Cure fundraiser to her. He worked tirelessly to get the school aware of the event through the morning and TV announcements, creating and selling shirts, ribbons and a banner for all to sign to support the teacher. Behind the scenes, he ran around organizing everything and making sure everything was set up correctly. Through his efforts, the high school raised over $3000. He exemplifies serving the common good in a hope to make a difference for those who fight cancer.
