BHS Art Students Put On First Ever State House Fashion Show

Thanks to Dr. Conti for the write up on the Fashion on the Hill event that was yesterday at the Massachusetts State House.
We are proud to share a few images from the Fashion On the Hill event that our Burlington High School students put on today in the Great Hall at the Massachusetts State House today. Thanks to the efforts of BHS Fashion Design teacher Keith Mistler and State Representative Ken Gordon the impressive work of our current and past BHS students was featured in a runway fashion show.
This first-ever State House Fashion Show was further evidence of the tremendous visual arts program that our district is able to provide for our students.  Our students are truly fortunate to attend schools in a community that values the arts and provides students diverse opportunities to show their creativity and higher-level thinking skills. We are certain that although these skills may not be measured on any standardized test, they will prove quite valuable to our students as they move forward down whichever path they choose.
There were certainly many high points during today’s show, but the highlight was the involvement of our Burlington Preschool students who wore their adaptive clothing created by the BHS Fashion Design students. This work was highlighted earlier in the year, but it was great to share it on a larger stage.
Congratulations and thank you to all of the students, staff, and community members that helped make today such a special event for Burlington Public Schools!
