Special Community Presentation by Ginger Katz

Burlington High School, in conjunction with The Burlington Police Department, is pleased to announce a special presentation by Ginger Katz from The Courage to Speak Foundation. Mrs. Katz will be coming to BHS on September 17 and 18 to speak to parents and students about the harmful effects of addiction on individuals and families. She sends a powerful message reflective of her personal experiences.  It shouldn’t be missed!

The Courage to Speak Foundation was founded in 1996, shortly after Ginger and Larry Katz lost their son, Ian, to a drug overdose. Since then, The Courage to Speak Foundation has been dedicated to fulfilling a promise Ginger made to Ian:  She promised to do everything in her power to prevent this tragedy from happening to another family.

Ginger will be at BHS on Thursday, September 17, at 5:00pm to speak to the parents prior to our annual Back to School night. She will be available after her presentation to converse with parents and students regarding her experiences.  The following day, on September 18, Mrs. Katz will make a presentation to our students, in two assemblies to students in Grades 9-10 and 11-12.
