We could not have been more proud of our students Dan Pais, Dillon Owen, Timmy Sullivan, and Aashay Madhani at DECA's ICDC.  They embraced all aspects of the conference from networking with students all over the country and the world and enjoyed meeting students who share their same passion and sense of achievement.  One of our students loves speaking Spanish and actively sought  out the students from Mexico and Spain to speak with them.

Timmy, Dan, and Dillon who competed in one team of two and one individual, all received a certificate of excellence for achieving the national competency standards at competition. This means they scored high on at least one of their business challenges such as the exam, or a role play.  Additionally, the team had the added honor of winning a blue ribbon medal and being called on stage to receive recognition for have a total combined score that placed them in the Top 20 of their category, Travel and Tourism.  They competed against 200 teams and this is an amazing accomplishment to place in the top 10% of the best of the best in the world.

Additionally, Asshay Madhani attended the leadership conference found the workshops and guest speakers extremely helpful and has many ideas on how to further grow the club in the coming years.

The experience will be one that they will fondly remember about high school and the confidence and perspective that this conference yields is unique and special.  Even at 3:30 in the morning when they were being dragged to the airport for their flight, the students were enthusiastic about their experience and thankful of the opportunity.  This experience is one that we will work on providing for more Burlington students as the club grows and matures and more students are awarded the coveted opportunity to compete at the international level.
