BHS Girls and Boys Track Compete at All States

Congratulations to the members of the boys/girls track teams who competed at all states this past weekend.  

Five members of the boys track team competed at the All State Championship this weekend.

Paul Hogan was the winner of the 2 mile in 9:01.47, less than 1.5seconds off Alberto Salazar's 39-year old meet record.

Hogan, Matt Ackerman, Eric Salina and Colin Raposo were third in the 4 x 800, at 7:54.41, shaving another second off their school record.

Christian Morneweck competed in the long jump.

Paul will be competing int he 5000 meters this Friday at the National Championship in Greensboro, NC. Then on Sunday he will be joined by Matt Ackerman, Eric Salina, and Colin Raposo in the Distance Medley Relay.

Five BHS female athletes also competed at All-States:

Stephanie McFadries (Jr) placed second in the javelin with a throw of 125'8". Her results were initially reported inaccurately, but are being fixed on the MIAA website today.

The 4x400 relay team broke the school record with a new mark of 4:07.24.  The team consists of Rebecca Salina (Jr), Shauntel Farland (Sr), Nicole Hardy (Sr) and Erin Hardy (Jr).

Our Heptathletes are competing today and tomorrow in Quincy. The team consists of Sam Lee (Sr), Michelle Lytje (Sr) and Michaela Mazure (Jr) and Coach Carr and his program host the boys's Decathlon today and tomorrow at the BHS track.
