Mid-Year Exams

As we start the new year, I would like to remind you that mid-year exams are on the horizon. Although testing on large amounts of material may have become somewhat routine for students in grades 10-12,
this is yet another first for our 9th graders. I encourage parents to ensure that students receive adequate rest during exam week. The 2014 mid-year exam schedule is shown below.

If inclement weather results in the cancellation of school, the schedule will be moved back and exams will be given when classes resume. For example, if school is cancelled on Tuesday, January 21, students will take their 1st and 2nd period exams on Wednesday, January 22, or when they return to school.

Students should consult with their teachers regarding the exam preparation process and extra help.  Our student mentors will be offering free tutoring sessions to all 9th graders after school in the cafeteria the week before exams begin:

Monday 1/13 -- Math
Tuesday 1/14 -- English
Wednesday1/15 -- History
Thursday 1/16 -- Foreign Language
Friday 1/17 -- Science

Parent conferences are available by appointment during mid-year exam week.  Parents may schedule a conference by calling the teacher’s voice mail number or by emailing the teacher directly.  If you receive a request for a conference from your child’s teacher, please contact that teacher directly.

If I may assist you in any way during the exam period, please contact me at 781-270-1836.  Your son or daughter’s guidance counselor is also available to answer any questions you may have. I wish you and your family the very best in 2014!
