Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone to Visit BHS

Tomorrow, Burlington High School Students will have an opportunity to 'Take The Pledge":

***I know the dangers and pledge not to text and drive.***

Burlington High School will be hosting Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone tomorrow.  District Attorney Leone, who has partnered with AT&T and in conjuction with the Middlesex Partnerships for Youth set out educate students and community members on the dangers of texting while driving.  Mr. Leone recently spoke at North Reading, you can read about it on Boston.com teens get the message about texting while driving.

The "It Can Wait" campaign fits in nicely with a message our Students Against Destructive Decisions club is promoting this year:  make good decisions, take care of each other, and be safe.

Mr. Leone is the second of several speakers who will be speaking to our students.  Most recently, Kathi Meyer, spoke about her experiences with students, and her own daughter, making bad decisions.  Next Week students will have to opportunity experience the dangers of distracted driving in the drive simulator provided by the UMASS Memorial Medical Center.
