9th & 10th Grade Assemblies

Burlington High staff had its first meetings of the year with the 9th & 10th grade classes today (above is Mr. Sheehan addressing the class of 2015)

Our message is simple and similar for both grades - be involved and ask a lot of questions.  All students are encouraged to enrich their high school experience by getting involved.  In addition to our many athletic offerings students are encouraged to explore one of our many extra-curricular activities which can be found on page 48 of our student handbook.  Students were also reminded to utilize the many support systems we have at the high school.  Guidance, administration, and teachers are all here to be a resource and support to our students - and they are encouraged to utilize us whenever any kind of issue presents itself.

Students also heard about the operations of the high school from, school nurse Ms. Sullivan, school resource officer Tom Fournier,  guidance director Mr. Attubato, their class advisors and Mr. Milton our student government advisor.  If there are any questions about the information given today, please contact us at the high school.

Two important notes that interested students should follow up on:

1.  Mr. Milton reminded 9th graders that class elections are coming up.  9th graders interested in running for office should attend an informational meeting on Friday 9/7 right after school in room 229.  The meeting will be brief, students will not miss their bus.

2.  I am looking for students who are interested in being on the principal's advisory board.  Any students interested should see me or send me an email expressing their interest.

I look forward to our meetings with the upperclassmen tomorrow.
