Future Teachers Donate to “Musical Explorers” at PS 242 in New York City

From The BHS English Dept. Website:

With a portion of the proceeds from last month’s NHS Yard Sale, the Future Teachers of America decided to donate to the “Musical Explorers” program at New York City’s PS 242, described as a “high poverty” elementary school.   This request was located through www.donorschoose.org, an online site which connects needy school districts with donors.

The FTA donation helped Mrs. DiPiano’s third grade classroom to purchase a camcorder  for use in incorporating music and art into their curriculum.  (Arts programs are not funded in this school).  Mrs. DiPiano, the teacher, writes:

Dear Burlington HS Future Teachers of America Club,
Thanks to your incredible donations our “Musical Explorers” will soon gain hands-on technology experience as they explore their diverse cultural roots! We are deeply touched by your thoughtful donation and thank you for selecting our project.
With gratitude,

Mrs. D
