My Digital Principal Award Application

The National Association of Secondary School Principals is sponsoring a new award called the "Digital Principal Award."   Three K-12 Principals will be chosen nationally and the winners will be featured in an upcoming issue of Principal Leadership magazine and also be part of a panel at the 2012 NASSP Breaking Ranks K-12 Conference  in Tampa Bay, Florida in March.   I am hopeful to have the opportunity to share on a wider scale how I feel the use of digital tools can support student learning and school improvement.  My introductory video and links to my portfolio items are below.

  • The first item is a link to the ISTE NETS For Administrators with embedded examples as to some of the ways I feel I have met these standards.  The remainder of the links here will be connected to specific artifacts that support these examples. In addition, these items also mesh with the three key areas of the Breaking Ranks Framework for School Improvement which emphasize Collaborative Leadership, Personalizing the School Environment, and Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.
  • Visionary Leadership -
    • Training for staff, students, and community
    • Providing training and support for other schools, administrators, educators
    • Some Examples:
