Teen LIGHT Leaders Receive Make A Difference Awards

TJ Horgan and Michaela Mazure recently received Make A Difference Awards from the JFK Library. TJ and Michaela are Teen LIGHT leaders and were honored for their community service work with this year’s Teen LIGHT project. The students and their families attended a special award ceremony at the JFK Library in Boston. The Make a Difference Award honors 100 8th graders throughout Massachusetts for their dedication to community service.

This is the 2nd year Teen LIGHT leaders received Make A Difference Awards. BHS students Kristyna Flaherty and Becki Krupp, currently freshmen, received the award last year for their Teen LIGHT work raising awareness and money for victims of child abuse.

Teen LIGHT and Flatbread Partner for a 2nd Restaurant Charity Night

No need to cook and clean – join us at Flatbread in Bedford on Tuesday, June 7th for pizza and fun! Flatbread will donate a portion of all pizza sales on June 7th from 5:30 – 9:30 to Teen LIGHT. Last year, the Teen LIGHT night was one of the top ten fund-raising nights at Flatbread. Let’s repeat that success again this year.

Teen LIGHT Leadership Team Presents to Burlington Board of Selectmen

The Teen LIGHT team of student leaders and directors presented their walk-a-thon proposal to the Burlington Board of Selectmen back in February. The group explained Teen LIGHT’s mission to the Board of Selectmen and requested permission to hold their 3rd annual walk-a-thon on June 4th. The Board of Selectmen commended the students on their professionalism, hard work, and dedication and unanimously approved the request.

Thank you to all who support Teen LIGHT! We sincerely appreciate the parents, teachers, administrators, business sponsors, donors, and community members who support the 8th graders as they make a difference through community service. We’ll see you on the 4th and the 7th!
