During Teacher Appreciation Week - Please Thank A Teacher or Two or...

Teaching Quote

Nearly every one of us has been impacted by a teacher.  Presidents, doctors, ministers, police officers...They all had teachers.

As we head into teacher appreciation week, my thoughts turn to some of the teachers in my life who helped shape a young man who lost his father as a middle schooler. Those special people went above and beyond to make sure that I was not only succeeding in the classroom, but also finding my way emotionally during the twists and turns of adolescence.

As I continue to reflect here, I wonder if they really know how much of an influence they had on me?  I know that I would not be where I am today without the support I received from them.  Therefore I am making a pledge to touch base with some of my former teachers this week during Teacher Appreciation Week to let them know how blessed I was to set foot in their classrooms.  I hope you all will do the same! Just take a minute to write a thank you, an e-mail, or make a phone call to an educator who touched your life in a meaningful way.

Finally, I would be remiss if I did not say that the teachers of Burlington High School are an amazing group of compassionate and caring educators who I appreciate dearly.  Thanks to my colleagues at BHS who work above and beyond for our students!

  1. I agree!! Teachers have an influence on all professions. I am going to contact some of my teahers today to thank them. I would also like to thank all of the teachers in the Burlington School System for the great influence they have had with my children who have been thriving every year they complete! Thank you for choosing to be a teacher and I hope you know how much you are appreciated!
