9 a.m. Opening For BHS - MCAS For Grade 10 Students

For the second year, we will delay our opening during MCAS testing so students can get some extra rest before taking this state-required test which all students must pass in order to earn a high school diploma.  Homeroom will begin at 9 a.m. on each of these days. Bus pickup times will be similar to what they are for a two-hour delay. Dismissal will still be at 2 p.m. each day. The rationale for the late start was highlighted in a blog post last year prior to MCAS testing.

March 25, 26 and April 1, 2

Burlington High School presents Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” on March 25, 26 and April 1 at 7:30, April 2 at 2:00 and 7:30pm, and April 3 at 2:00pm. Filled with all the enchantment, wonder and surprise that has made it an international sensation, the production will take place in the Fogelberg PerformingArts Center of Burlington High School, a handicapped accessible venue. Tickets are $10 for students and senior citizens; $15 for adults. Tickets are available at www.BurlingtonTickets.org. For further information, call 781-A-FUN-TIC.

Tuesdays - March 15, 22, 29

APPLAUDD program for parents continues at Marshall Simonds Middle School 7-9 p.m. APPLAUDD won a National Service to Science Initiative award by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) and the Center for Sunstance Abuse Prevention (CSAP) in Washington D.C. in 2010 after it was nominated by the MA Department of Public Health. The Service to Science award is given to a select few local prevention programs in the country that demonstrate promising results as an innovative way to reduce underage drinking and drug abuse.

  1. Is the date on MCAS correct? I thought it was next week.

  2. No - It should have read March instead of May.
    Thanks!
