Local Fashion Designer Spends Day With BHS Arts Students
Local Fashion Designer Sena Tang visited our BHS Art students this week to talk about what it takes to work as a designer. Here is a brief bio of Ms. Tang:
Sena Tang graduated from Boston Latin School in 1999, and then went on to major in Studio Art at Wellesley College. After graduating in 2003, and after doing many rounds of informational interviews and networking, Sena worked in a variety of creative jobs, from a printmaking assistant to a production assistant for a Discovery Home Channel show. She finally landed a freelance position at J.Jill in Quincy, MA, which turned into a full time position as an assistant fashion designer for all of the company's sweaters. After 5 years, she moved to New York City where she freelanced at American Eagle and J.Crew. Sena then landed a full time position designing sweaters for Energie and then for Jessica Simpson's Junior lines sold at Macy's across the country.
