Poetry Out Loud Semifinals Livestreamed Tomorrow

Excitement is in the air as BHS prepares for its 5th Annual Poetry Out Loud competition. The event will be livestreamed all day long on the Burlington Cable Access Television's Justin TV Channel.

If you are new to Poetry Out Loud, it is sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and Poetry Foundation and every students at BHS participates. Students choose a poem from the Poetry Out Loud website and recite the poem in front of their classmates in their individual English classrooms.  A classroom winner is selected from each English class to move onto the semifinals which will take place tomorrow during periods 1-7.

From the semifinals, we will select a group of finalists with a winner from each period and some wild card selections to compete in our school-wide finals next week.  Check out the video below from last year of two-time BHS Champion David Murray (Class of 2010).  We are excited to see who will become our new champion!
