An Invitation For Parents To Take Part In An Online Chat Sunday

For the past few months, I have been involved with a new blog called Connected Principals.  Each month we host a chat in an Elluminate Room on a topic that impacts our schools.  This month's chat will focus on the importance of getting more parents engaged in our schools. The chat will take place at 5:30 on Sunday evening and one of the most important questions that will be asked will be "What do parents need from administrators?"  I would love to have some Burlington parents sharing their perspective, so please check out this link and join our chat on Sunday!

Our October Elluminate Session Sunday Will Focus On Engaging Parents As Partners: "

We are excited to announce that our October Elluminate Session this Sunday from 5:30-6:30 p.m. (EST) will focus on the importance of parent engagement in our school improvement efforts.  The Connected Principals believe strongly that the only way we can have meaningful change is to have parents engaged in this work.

While many of us have parents involved in our schools, few of us have parents engaged as active voices in our school improvement initiatives. This discussion will feature both the Parent and the Principal voice while touching on some of the concrete actions some school communities are taking to engage parents.

We hope you will join us as Janet Avery, Chris Wejr, George Couros and Patrick Larkin talk about things that are happening in their schools to increase parent engagement. In addition, we are thrilled to have Penny Lindballe, a parent from Alberta, Canada to discuss what parents expect from administrators.

The Connected Principals greatly appreciate the support of Shelly Terrell, who will once again moderate our monthly chat.

These real-time events are delivered using Elluminate complete with audio, chat and desktop sharing. To join a live event just click on the following link:
