The Internet effect in Burlington - Burlington, Massachusetts - Burlington Union

Thanks to the Burlington Union for helping us start the conversation on our 1:1 initiative. It is an exciting time to be an educator and I am excited that BHS will be one of the leaders in the state in the area of technology integration. I hope that you will take a few minutes to check out the article:

  1. I'm very excited about my new laptop and the two courses which I took this summer to better prepare me for the technology integration in my classroom. I'm very grateful, as you know, that I work at BHS. Mr. Larkin has been wonderfully supportive, affirming and encouraging of my learning technology. His enthusiasm was contagious. Katie Bercury has spent countless hours with me assisting me in preparing a blog. Both my French and Spanish classes were able to do an assignment using my blog. Although I'm not even at the intermediate level, I am continuing to explore, pursue and seek new adventures in technology. I'm a life-long learner. My students, who are by far more savvy techy than I, can help me learn even more. I'm getting my feet wet, so to speak, and am willing to take more courses and learn even more. Through Facebook and Twitter, parents can have another avenue through which they may contact me. I wish to use FB and Twitter professionally and proficiently in communicating with both students and parents. The Foreign Language Dept. at BHS is updating its language laboratory. I went to WPI this summer with some colleagues to learn more programs so that we can be more efficient with technology.
