Kalpita Patel and Munish Gandevia were accompanied by BHS Associate Principal Rick Sheehan to Student Government Day at the Massachusetts State House on Friday for the annual Student Government Day. The BHS students got take part in simulations of committee hearings and executive sessions where they discussed two bills, one relative to cell phone use in cars and one authorizing a study of school starting times and schedules.
Munish played the role of Charles Murphy when students moved to the House of Representatives. The students then had a joint session of the Senate and House of Representatives. Attorney General Martha Coakley gave the keynote address.
