A letter from the Director (John Middleton):
Burlington is once again producing a top-notch show that all can be proud of. The entire community has some together to make this happen. It is amazing to think about the hundreds of hours of time and thousands of dollars that have been donated to bring this to life. It takes a dedicated and professional staff. We have that. It takes committed and generous parent volunteers. We have that. It takes a supportive administration and community that backs the program financially. We have that. It takes talented and energetic youth to bring the story to life. We definitely have that. Finally, it takes thousands of patrons to buy tickets and attend the performances year after year. Thank you all for supporting quality art programs in Burlington.
This story is a tragic one. We have asked the cast to dedicate their performance to the memory of the victims and survivors of this disaster. During the show, we hope you will learn some things about the real people who were on board, what they had, what they wanted and dreamed about. Then, when faced with unbelievable odds and a sinking ship, you will see the incredible choices the people were forced to make. I am sure that you will take away many lessons from these true stories, as we have; life is precious, people are people no matter what financial class or background, an inflated ego and over confidence can lead one to become self obsorbed and overlook the safety and well being of others. Whatever lesson you take from this stirring presentation, we hope they are meaningful for you.
Thank you again for your support and appreciation.
