One of our goals in 2010 at BHS is to get a greater parent voice as we continue to evolve as an educational institution. We cannot accomplish all we need to for the sake of our students without your active participation.
With this in mind, I encourage you take part in an exciting new opportunity on Twitter next Wednesday (January 26th at 9 p.m.). Starting next Wednesday, you will have the opportunity to interact with other parents from around the world on relevant education topics.
This initiative is due to the efforts of Parentella, a website dedicated to the cause of increasing parent voice. This weekly forum will allow parents to collaborate, communicate, and create a new vision for education in their communities. It all starts next Wednesday with a discussion on the following question:
What is ideal communication between parents and educators?
Please add your voice to this much needed conversation!
If you need help getting started here is a great on-line resource for learning Twitter. I would watch the first short video and then look at the section on #hashtags. It may seem a bit overwhelming, but jump in and give it a shot. An even better idea might be to ask your child for a quick tutorial.
If all else fails call me (781) 270-1836 and I will walk you through it or set up a time for you to stop by for a quick lesson.
