BHS Hockey Team Celebrates Banner Raising With Rout Of Reading

It was a great night all around at the Ice Palace as the Red Devils routed Reading 8-0 and unveiled the Middlesex League Champion/Super 8 Finalist banner.

On the ice, it was a huge win for this year's BHS squad which was led by a Nail Pandolfo hat trick. Meanwhile senior Chris Russo posted his second straight shutout in net as the team improved to 2-0-1.

Off the ice, the team hoisted its banner from last year's unforgettable season. The banner, which was raised by last year's captains Brian Hanafin, Peter Russo, and Paul Conceison, has the name of each member of last year's squad and it will hang at the Ice Palace where generations of future BHS hockey players can use it as the ultimate measuring stick.

For the current squad, their quest will continue Wednesday against Stoneham. For the results of all of the BHS Hockey Games check out the BHS Athletic Blog.

  1. Its sad to see the favortism this school shows towards certain athletic teams

  2. I am curious what "certain atheltic teams" the previous post is refering to. I work at the school, and have an athlete (not a hockey player) at the school, and do not feel there is favortism by sport.

The Hockey team's accomplishment last year was speacial. They generated such enthusiam and pride in our community and deserve every accolade they received. Dr. Conti and Mr Larkin have done a tremendous job supporting ALL the sports teams.

  4. I feel that what the ice hockey team accomplished was incredible and they all deserved every bit of glory they received. I feel the same thoughts would be felt if it was any other sport in town. In all honestly, I find myself noticing that the same last names of players are constantly be written about and spoken about. Let's remember it takes a team to have success- and who's who in town as a parent should have no weight
