The hallway leading up to our cafeteria has been lined with posters from our BHS Leadership and Social Change classes who are promoting their PEOPLE MATTER fundraiser. The class is asking all of us to sacrifice some of the change we spend on coffee, fast food between November 4 and November 17 so that we can help others who are far less fortunate. Our Leadership and Social Change students will be collecting spare change in the cafeteria up to November 17. Feel free to also drop off donations at the main office c/o Ms. Janovitz.
Some of the quotes from the posters that struck me were:
"Sacrifice a happy meal and change a boy's life."
"Sacrifice a frappacino and change the course of a nation."
"The health and nutrition needs of the world's poorest people could be met for an additional $19 billion a year."
"In 20 days we can alter a community forever."
After November 17 all of the collected donations will be sent to the One Home Many Hopes Project. Check out the video below and know that your donations will change lives and change a nation.
