Alan November is a native of Marblehead, MA and also a well known expert on learning. He has a particular affinity for technology integration, the focus of his talk in the video above. It is definitely well worth the time to hear Mr. November's perspective.

Great video and very inspirational—however, as an elementary school teacher, Alan November’s concept of globalizing the educational curriculum is overwhelming to me because of how the education system functions today. Every State has educational requirements and within those states the counties develop specific curriculums. Even within the same counties, the practices vary among schools. I believe there are many educators like myself who recognize the need to make significant changes in our roles as teachers and are willing to empower the students to guide us to using technology that will aid them with learning. Unfortunately, without the support of the bigger system, we remain locked into our existing school model—
