BHS Spectrum Club Participating In Today's Day of Silence

Today, April 17th, the SPECTRUM Club (our school's Gay Straight Alliance) is sponsoring its second annual DAY OF SILENCE.

Day of Silence is a national day of awareness when students takes pledges of silence in order to protest the harassment and bullying of gay, lesbian transgender and bisexual students and their allies. We are particularly pleased that this year we are able to hold our Day of Silence on the national date, which, historically, has tended to fall during April vacation.

Last year's Day of Silence was a tremendous success and made our gay and lesbian students and their allies feel more empowered and safe. We are asking students and staff who support this event to wear a rainbow ribbon duing the day.
