We are disappointed to report to our staff, students and community that some threatening remarks have been found in our boys' bathroom in the Upper A hallway today. We have placed a phone call to all of the homes of our students and we look forward to continue working with the Burlington Police in the morning to find the perpetrator of this threat.
Here is the text of the connect-ed message that was sent to the families of our BHS students this evening:
This is Burlington High School Principal Patrick Larkin calling to inform you about a threatening comment that was left on a stall in the boys’ bathroom today. The comment stated that there would be a bomb in the school on March 23 at 2 p.m. The individual had first written March 22 and then changed it to March 23. In any event, the Burlington Police have been brought in and we will be following some potential leads to find the perpetrator of this threat. In the meantime, we ask that all students enter the building through the main entrance and we will have an added police presence over the next two school days. Please know, we will take every precaution necessary to ensure the safety of our staff and students. I welcome your questions and comments and please know that you can turn to the BHS Blog for a written account of this message.
