Ms.Thembekile Mazibuko (pictured above) was a guest of Ms. DeBellis and her Latin students. She is a native of South Africa who speaks many languages. She focused on two languages: Zulu and Xhosa. The zulu language had a very unique clicking sound that our students got to hear and practice. It was a very interesting presentation by Ms. Mazibuko and we all wished that there had been more time to hear her speak on the 11 dialects spoken in South Africa.
Siyabonga! (Thank You) Ms. Mazibuko.
We also were fortunate to have a visit from Mrs. Maria Dube, who was born in Puerto Rico and moved to the U.S. as a teenager. Mrs. Dube spoke to Ms. Abbott's and Mrs. Dacey's Spanish III and Spanish IV students about many aspects of life in Puerto Rico. We appreciate her taking the time to help our students gain insight into the culture and customs of Puerto Rico. Muchas gracias Seniora Dube!
