BHS Community Service Club Will Collect For Our Troops Once Again

The Troops In Iraq Sent This Certificate of Appreciation Last Year

The following is a message from our Community Service Club Advisor Mr. McRae:

Again this year, the BHS Community Service Club is planning to send packages to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan in early December. Over the last several years, support from the entire Burlington school community has been so important to us and to the solders who have received these boxes. You can see some of the wonderful letters that we have received from soldiers last year is on this website.

We are hoping that we can again enlist support from various schools and teachers to help us collect items for this cause. With the economy on everyone's one, we're worried but still hopeful that we can garner support from the community. Sadly, one of our major contributors of AT&T phone cards over the last three years, the Talon Group on Mall Rd. went out of business recently.

We would also love to have students' letters, cards and/ or works of art that we could include in these packages. Soldiers have told us that some of their favorite things were student-created. Also, we are looking for Beanie Babies that soldiers can give to children.

Our deadline for collecting items is November 25.
